Reader comment on item: Al-Qaeda Invites Me to Join Its Ranks
in response to reader comment: Maybe you should become Muslim

This individual is a prime example of the "Muslim Personality Disorder". The mythology has become internalized to the point where any means is justifible to advance the mythology. The narrative of the mythology is , to this invividual, so compelling that the mythology itself has produced suicidal/homicidal ideation, dehumanizing others, a compulsion to control others, in compliance with the dogma of the mythology. This is a disordered personality, who is a threat to himself and others.

Rollo May, a psycologist, has written on the power and need for myth in the human experience. When taken with the 1960's Harvard study and book "Obedience to Authority", which proved that practically any human being will inflict great pain on others, so long as an authority figure assumes "Responsibility", an image emerges of a powerful, compelling, and violent mythology, with no restraints on the "Authority" which is the deity itself. Simply by living and acting out the mythology, a pathology develops leading to the destruction of self and others.
