Reader comment on item: The Burqa Wars
in response to reader comment: burkah the shield

The two comments above are typical of a Muslim response... Let me break it down for you and people who think like you...

If a western woman goes to a muslim country can see wear a tank top and shorts? NO
Did anyone force her to go? NO
If she wants to stay there must she respect the local custom? YES
If a muslim woman goes to a western country can she wear a burqa? YES but it has consequences
Was she forced to come to the West, i.e, did they drag her kicking and screaming? NO

You have to respect local custom and law, if Allah's law is for you then go to a country where Sharia law is implemented and enjoy, feel the endless joys that come from living within your beliefs. I know I do, I love the West, I love the beliefs. I really don't want there to be a problem between us but you want to change the way we live here, we have to 'accomodate' you. Why? Are you so special? Nope.

Just as when I lived in the Middle East (UAE, Qatar, Saudi) no one made my life easier. No one went out of their way to accept my beliefs and practices. In fact, if did make a demand, i would have been scorned...So Westerners, drop this appeasement multicultural harmony crap, no one else is doing it, so why should we? To my muslim friends, stay as long as you like in the west but you must recognise we like cartoons and tits and beer and satire.
