FBI stepping in

It seems obvious to me that the FBI was not actively listening to the audio being captured by the bug. They probably archived all recordings for possible later reference and probably reviewed the audio only when suspicious activity triggered them to do so. The FBI, though obviously quite resourceful, does not have infinite resources allowing them to be actively listening to every questionable individual every second of their life.

I also read a post by someone talking about how there is more to the story, seemingly trying to extract some sympathy for the murderers (parents) and maybe remove some of the blame from their shoulders and place it on the FBI. Such a notion truly unearths your ignorance, which is ironic considering you are taking about knowing the whole story. I found these words to be apalling in a manner not completely unlike the sister saying "she deserved to die".
