It is important to discuss the underlying cause

Reader comment on item: Iran's Christian Boom

Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jun 25, 2021 at 02:11

Dear Dr Pipes, While we discuss boom in Christianity in Iran, we must also investigate if this boom is sustainable and what its causes. We should highlight that when a person leaves Islam they leave a stubborn religion that is selfish for its own purposes and is very unfair and cruel to others. I hope those who are leaving Islam in Iran are doing so because Islam has failed the Iranian people for the last 1400 years in general and since the Iranian revolution in particular. Over emphasis on thoughtless rituals make Islam an unfit religion for the modern mind. I hope this point is well understood.
