Both Pipes and Sherman are not addressing the real problem

Having lived in Israel for forty- five years and observing daily life here I believe the basic Sherman idea, of paying everyone off to get out, is wholly unrealistic. What is worse it fails to see what is actually happening in Israel which is nothing like the 'victory' both Pipes and Sherman want. In Israel itself the Arab minority is becoming a more significant element in the total Israeli reality. In some areas the Jewish dependency on the Arab workers is so great it seems to make a mockery of any ideal of Jewish self- sufficiency.
As for the political victory I am sure both Pipes and Sherman knows what is happening in Area C, and in fact in the Negev and Galilee also. Not only is there no hint of Arabs leaving the land rather they are taking more of it.
It is nice to dream but what is really happening in Israel on the ground and in the society demands a much more complicated response than wishful- thinking will give.
