Israel accepting the possibility of a Palestinian state.

Re:
" My reply: To the contrary, the allure of a state after the conflict ends offers benefits to both sides. Israelis will be free of ruling unwanted subjects. Palestinians have a reason to behave. "

Is fraught with danger as Arafat demonstrated that the Arabs are content to wait until such time that they can start the violence all over again.
Their taqiya and the constant referral to the treaty of hudaibiya means that Israel, if it is realistic, cannot relax the tense security situation for fear of the rearmament of the Palestinian territories amidst the kumbaya.
The Palestinians will never accept a demilitarized state.
Without intel on the ground one cannot appraise the actual situation and witnessing the true attitude to having a state, which in my opinion is just another stepping stone.
