"Moderate Muslims"!

Reader comment on item: Do Moderate Muslims Exist?

Submitted by dhimmi no more, Apr 24, 2019 at 08:24

Dr Pipes,

In the Middle East any Arabic speaker who reads the Qur'an and the books of Islam (al-Sira, al-Ahadith and al-Tarikh etc..) will end by being either an apostate or a militant/terrorist! There seems to be no happy medium.

The good news is: Most Muslims in the Middle East have no idea what is written in their books. Islam is no more than rituals to most Muslims in the Middle East! It is very surprising to most of them when they are told that the Qur'an, for example, is full of grammatical errors and foreign words. This group of Muslims are what I would call "moderate Muslims."
