Too little, too late

The problem at this point comes down to demographics: Europeans haven't had children at even half the replacement rate in a generation, whereas the immigrants already there are having children by the truckload. Even if they close the borders now, native European populations are doomed to age and shrink UNLESS they get their acts together and start incentivizing their people to have multiple children--and frankly, it's probably far too late to turn around the culture enough to encourage families large enough to keep up with those of the immigrants.
