Learning from the past - appeasement

Reader comment on item: Denying [Islamist] Terrorism

Submitted by Maggie (Australia), Aug 6, 2005 at 18:34

Mr Pipes,

your correspondents have been most helpful in setting the record straight about some of the incidents that you listed. I do think that there are two incidents that cannot be considered as acts of terror, but not the murder of the New Jersy Coptic family. Coptic Christians remain a target for the Islamists because the Coptics are hated by the Islamists due to their strength in bringing about retribution for actions taken against their own Coptic Christian daughters.

However, and I think that some correspondents have missed the point here, we have to look to the past to see why appeasement of these terrorists will not work. The other thread where some of your correspondents have provided some very good information on the murderous trail of Mohammed provides a lot of insight into the attitude of the adherents of Islam. Keeping in mind that there are many who have known no other way of life, we are still left with a group of Islmaofacists who want to continue the trail of Mohammed and to subjugate the world as followers of Islam.

It is our inability to learn from the past that has brought about a situation where appeasement of the Islamics is the order of the day. I do not accept that poverty is the reason for these crimes. I see "poverty" as an excuse. For it was Jesus who said "the poor will always be with us". Besides the majority of people who are poor are in fact more content than the rich who continue in their greedy desire to own more and more in the way of property. (there are exceptions even in this statement).

On the whole, it is the journalists who have remained the appeasers. The politically correct of this world have stifled us with regard to freedom of speech. In Australia for example, two Christian pastors were punished under politically correct laws because they spoke out and spoke the truth about Islam. These laws are being used to silence us from speaking out with the truth about the aims and goals of Islam because of the fear of being punished.

I am on a discussion list called Religion and Politics. This is a topic that is being raised on the list. For those of us who have not got the wool pulled over our eyes we can see the harm that is being done by left wing political correctness. However, one correspondent who is blinded by the Democrats idea of political correctness cannot see that poverty is not the cause of the terror attacks in this world.

It does not take much to insult the Islamofacists and yet they insult both Christians and Jews and consider the atheists to be weak fools.

The world is asleep and will remain asleep until people wake up to the evil of political correctness. It is a separate evil that is preventing people from seeing that they are under threat from Islamofacists and their backers.

P.S. I have just read that Iran has been supplying the materials for the bombs that are currently killing both Iraqis and Americans in Iraq. Are we going to remain blind to that threat?
