Rememering your father

Reader comment on item: NYT: Richard Pipes, Historian of Russia and Reagan Aide, Dies at 94

Submitted by Gary Bowser (United States), May 20, 2018 at 10:38

Dear Daniel,

I was privileged to be host to your father on several occasions when he came to lecture at the USAF Air War College. I was on the faculty and responsible for Soviet studies and technology.

These all too brief encounters with your father were a time to learn and to appreciate his great intellect - and be aware of his contributions to the national security of the USA with his perspectives and insights.

Condolences to you on the passing of a giant in his field.

Gary Bowser
