My Condolences to Daniel and Gratitude To Richard PipesReader comment on item: NYT: Richard Pipes, Historian of Russia and Reagan Aide, Dies at 94 Submitted by Dave (United States), May 17, 2018 at 21:53 My thanks to Richard Pipes for helping bring down the Berlin Wall, and provide the world a respite from the threat of nuclear war and Soviet expansionism. My daughter and her family would not be able to live in Kiev in relative freedom without such brave, scholarly heroes, who contributed to freedom through the power of their ideas and beliefs. That fight never ends, and is now carried on against Islamist tyranny, in the finest family tradition.
