Reader comment on item: MEF's Surprising Straw Poll on Trump

Submitted by Michael S (United States), Apr 10, 2016 at 23:12

Hello, Daniel

I hope we're still somewhat friends, after I accused you, in my last post, of having a hand in destroying the Republican Party. Let me mitigate that, by saying that

1. The Republican Party, the 2016 Election and the US Presidency aren't all that important to me. Every day, I pray for our leaders; and for the past seven years, that has meant praying for Barack Obama. We got Obama for President, who has been a disaster for Israel and for the whole world, in a turn of events that I can only describe as a demonic "anti-miracle" in the world's and Obama's minds, against all reason. If all the squabblers, clawing one another to get to the top of the heap in the Republican and Democratic races think that by their efforts, they can somehow correct that, they are wrong. By the looks of things, we will end up with Hillary Clinton or something worse; and when we get him/ her/ it, I will pray for them the way I have prayed for Obama.

2. You know, of course, that the drive to defeat Trump probably has already doomed Republicans' chances in November. It's already happened. It's over -- this year, and perhaps forever. RIP GOP.

3. My concern is for my family, for the Jewish people, and for the church. My only concern for the US, is that half my family lives here. The other half lives in China. Christians and Jews are under fire in both places: In China, things are much better than they were 50 years ago under Chairman Mao. My children still have a little less freedom there than they do here; but things have been rapidly changing for the worse in the US these past 50 years. They will not get better here, for Christians or for Jews; and it is still quite dangerous over there. My (Christian) Bible says,

Matthew 10:
[21] And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
[22] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
[23] But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
[24] The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
[25] It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
[26] Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
[27] What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
[28] And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
[29] Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
[30] But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

"[23] But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another..."

This was advice from Jesus to his disciples. If you or the readers think that Jews will somehow be exempt from these things, ye are poor students of history. I don't pray that God will somehow save us through the Republicans or the Democrats, through Trump or through the Establishment. I know my ultimate fate, and yours; what I pray for, is that we all will know what to do and where to go at every turn of the way, that we and our grandchildren will remember and follow the Wisdom from Above; and that at the end of the road, we will arrive savely together in the New Jerusalem.

Many Jews don't believe in the "New Jerusalem", a spiritual place. For them, I pray that they will remember the OLD Jerusalem and Israel; and realize that there is no permanent safety among the goiim.

Shalom shalom :-)
