Reader comment on item: Ending a Century of Palestinian Rejectionism
in response to reader comment: Sorry, Dr. Pipes, You're Wrong

You sound earnest and honest, so I respectfully beg to differ.

1) The PA cooperates with the IDF on security because it keeps Hamas at bay. Avi Issacharoff and others have pointed this out repeatedly.

2) Did Abbas' filthy feet comment escape your attention? On PA television he said, ""We bless every drop of blood that has been spilled for Jerusalem...blood spilled for Allah...Every Martyr will reach Paradise, and everyone wounded will be rewarded by Allah." Debatably, he's responsible (directly? indirectly?) for the deaths of dozens of Jews and Arabs in recent weeks.

3) You seem to acknowledge that the Palestinians chose their destiny and got themselves into a jam, but now you want Israel to get them out of the jam.

4) It's easy to toss around the word "intransigence," but a poor choice of words on election day is not exactly proof positive that Netanyahu's intentions are all in bad faith.

5) Why is this Israel's reponsibility? Palestinian leadership has been abominable for over 50 years. Haven't the Palestinians noticed that the only people getting stinking rich in the Middle East have been Saudi oil tycoons and Palestinian terror tycoons like Arafat, Abbas, Marzook, Mashaal, Haniyah, some of whom are now billionaires? Isn't it time to throw out the bums, instead of continuing to look for creative ways to blame Israel?
