I, a retired Civil Engineer & WWII Navy Vet who was present in Tokyo Bay on Sept 2,1945 to witness the Japan Empire and was given about 4 hours of liberty to observe the almost total destruction of Yokahama & Tokyo, and in October,'45,while anchored in Osaka, were invited by US Marines to visit the remains of Hiroshima.

What I as a 19 year old,has convinced me that Oppenheimer was correct and Truman,an evil and stupid hick who had replaced Henry A Wallace when FDR ran for his 4th term.

What i did not know until August 12,1946, was how the war in Europe had ended.Simply stated,we were Nazi betrayed, and lost.In the Pacific, I had seen the greatest Industrial Empire.

I learned that my entire paternal and maternal were either shot or gassed at Birkenau .

As I approach 88,I am not a happy camper.
