giving away land to fascist and bigoted people is suicidal, among other things

Reader comment on item: Anarchy Surrounds Israel

Firstly, Mr. Pipes, I would like to thank you for your all your intelligent and incisive work. I have been following you for years and have learned a lot from you, and consider you as a standard against which to gauge my understanding of middle eastern "politics".

From before Day One, before the 1993 Oslo "Peace" whatever, I have thought [it] crazy to give away prime real estate to fascists, thieves and bigots. Remember Arafat! I recently read that Mahmoud Abbas has a net worth in excess of $100 million. His thesis, Moscow State Univ., was on Holocaust denial.

Israel was crazy giving away the Sinai and Gaza and would be suicidal to give away the West Bank to anyone! Especially, to any of our kind and goodhearted neighbours/cousins.

And Israeli and other 'experts' spoke of giving "back" the Golan to Syria. Go figure. Who were and where are those 'experts' and what do they say now.

They are exceedingly quiet at the moment.
