Reader comment on item: Erasing the George W. Bush Administration Online

Submitted by Chemla Véronique (France), May 19, 2012 at 05:07

Hello,

The same is unfortunately true in France for official public websites such as Elysée, ministries, etc. Many speeches and videos have disappeared from those websites. Read : http://www.marianne2.fr/Hollande-va-t-il-rayer-Sarkozy-du-web_a218509.html. Ministries legally have to give their print archives to Archives Nationales. May be, a law should be passed in order to include Internet archives among those archives or/and to keep all public websites' pages.

Cordially,
