Dear Dr Pipes,

B K Abdullah is confusing between killing by Christians on the one hand and killing in the name of Christianity. There have been hundreds of examples where bad people of Christian heritage (Stalin, Hitler, Timothy McVeigh, and others) killed innocent people but there has been no systematic and sustained centuries long pattern of killings in which any one killed in the name of Christianity. There has been a sustained patter for a very long time where individuals and groups have resorted to violence in the name of Islam. It has happened because Islamic moderates and intellectuals have never stood up to the violent factions inside Islam.
