Steady on myth, no Greek would accept the status of being a colony, quasy or not,of the French and the Germans due to a financial crisis not all of which is their making. They do not need EU support,as Turkey, barring a few ultra nationalist nutters, accept the present status quo.We do not want their islands, all we want is our fair share of the EEZ.and the Aegean to be a free sea, whereby a Turkish ship sailing from Antalya to Istanbul can do so without the need of a Greek permission. How would the Black Sea nations feel if we say the straits are Turkish territorial waters therefore you cannot sail your merchant ships to the Med without our say so.

Greece is our neighbour, we need to have good relations. They can get out of their financial troubles by exporting to Turkey, a 75 million market at their doorstep.Unlike the Chinese we are inveterate consumers, if they have things to sell we will buy it. Our trade deficit is 77 billion dollars and we still go on buying foreign stuff,g et a share of this Greek neighbours.

If the EU tries to colonise Greece they can always summon help from their orthodox Russian friends, what would the EU do then.
