Reader comment on item: Kastelorizo - Mediterranean Flashpoint?

Submitted by athinagoras (Cyprus), Feb 17, 2012 at 09:06

Dear Mr Pipes

Can Israel reassure Cyprus with actions, not words, that its new friendly approach of cooperation between the two countries is not an attempt to blackmail and force Turkey in restoring its former ties with Israel ?

How can mutual respect materialize if we take into account Israel's past faithful support of Turkey - backed by the American Jewish lobby as well - which effectively blocked Cypriot and Hellenic interests?

How will Israel act if its Turkish alliance is restored and Turkey demands their previous past state of affairs in the international and local geopolitical arena
