When reporting becomes an advertisement (of CAIR)

Reader comment on item: CAIR: Islamists Fooling the Establishment

Dear Dr Pipes:

I was shocked to see this (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/cair-asks-va-law-school-to-drop-speaker-who-says-annihilate-islam-2011-09-30) report on Marketwatch. It is only mildly shocking that while we value freedom of speech so much, CAIR has asked George Mason University in Virginia to not host Nonie Darwish's speech because according to CAIR Darwish is a islamophobe and hate monger.

What is more shocking is that the marketwatch report is also an advertisement of CAIR. At the bottom of this report there are links describing how to become a fan of CAIR on facebook, follow it on twitter, and to subscribe its email list. A news report about republicans criticizing democrats will probably not describe how to join the republican party or become its fan on facebook but the journalist who wrote the above report about CAIR quietly slipped-in links advertising CAIR in the news report.
