Hating & Criticizing America Are Not The Same

Reader comment on item: Hating America's Success

Submitted by Keith Markman (United States), Oct 17, 2004 at 22:17

In fairness, I have not read, "Hating America: A History." However, one needs to take more care in differentiating between those who hate the U.S., and those who have legitimate criticisms, but do not wish us ill, or believe there are many positives that provide a counterweight to the negatives. The difference can sometimes be gleaned from the tone of the writer, but not always.
