the Great Satan: temptor towards a better future.

Reader comment on item: Hating America's Success

Submitted by John Berg (United States), Oct 12, 2004 at 10:37

The US frustrates the ambitions of the more intolerant of Muslims by making it virtually impossible to spread militant Islam into the civilized parts of the West. Perhaps envy is a motivation for hate by some in the world, but I suggest these control the Muslim mind.:

1. The US shows a bright future, possible for those who select modernity, science, and Western values over a Mullahocracy;

2. The US attracts many of the best of Muslim minds, gives them hope and an alternative to an intolerant creed;

3. The US defends and supports the first significant land area in the Middle East dedicated to democracy and modernity, Israel. But it only the first , as Afghanistan and Iraq are following quickly.
