Hegemonic Yearnings

Reader comment on item: Islamist Turkey Overreaches

Submitted by Susan Somerville (United States), Jun 8, 2010 at 16:36

The photo of Erdogan and Ahmadinajad looks good to the media and would seem to convey that there is strength in the new alliance of Turkey, Iran, and Syria. But would it be terribly naive to suggest that Turkey and Iran seek their hegemonic stature in the world and place in history? It will be marvelous if there will be the necessary forces to upset their nasty plans!
