talentReader comment on item: Affirmative Action in Beauty Contests? Submitted by John Paul Telhomme (United States), May 17, 2010 at 19:26 So, they rigged it for blacks in the 1980s? Vanessa Williams was the first black to win and later in whatever order you wish to present it, here are the rest: Five Black women who were named Miss America--Vanessa L. Williams, Suzette Charles, Debbye Turner, Marjorie Vincent and Kimberly Aiken and in there somewhere with a certain ranking is Halle Berry. Can you name any two white women before or after Vanessa Williams who won the same pageant? What are they doing today? Talent is talent. ... Bimbo from last year had none!
