Shamsud Doulah: Do not drown in the green stuff coming out of Saudi Arabia

Reader comment on item: Why Shariah Must Be Opposed
in response to reader comment: Beheading is halal and was practiced regularly by the Prophet

Hello Shamsud Doulah,

I have noticed that the farther Muslims are from the centre of Islam, Saudi Arabia, the more liberal they sound and probably are. Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia are so much more humane than the countries closer to Saudi Arabia. But lately a green wash of monotheistic hatred of the Other has been spreading from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan that threatens to undo the gentle cultural heritage that still informs Islam in the East. Brother Shamsu Doulah that green wash is beginning to hit Bangladesh. The hope is it washes over you rather than into you.

>>Do not be angry and sentimental. Why do you think of burkha. It is an ancient tradition of India, Greece, Rome and other places. Islam does not prescribe as you see in Afghanistan.<<

If the burka is an ancient tradition of these cultures why has Muslims/Islam adopted it so enthusiastically and they have spurned it?

The burka damages the wearer both psychologically and physically. It makes women ashamed of their Allah-given bodies and is an unhygienic mode of dressing.

I am angry that sharia makes women feel so uncomfortable with their bodies they have to cover up a god-given gift.

>>Read, understand, and then speak.<<

From some of your posts it appears that you are not practicing what you preach.
