The public tax dollars should support the public

Reader comment on item: Muslim Hours at Municipal Swimming Pools in the West
in response to reader comment: Public Swimming Pools are not for Religious Usage

The hate that oozes through Ms. Chalav's contempt for Islam is a prime example of why peace is so difficult to achieve in our world. By refusing to make a reasonable accommodation to Islam brothers and sisters, we are doing the same thing that the public had done to us Jews not too long ago; refused us admission to the public pools because of our faith. There is nothing "perverted" about how Muslims believe and their feelings about separate accommodations for swimming. Indeed, Orthodox Jews feel the very same way and the males will not swim in a pool with females for reasons of modesty. Is that perverted too?

This hate that Ms. Chalav perpetuates does little more than teach our kids to hate and kill Muslims as it teaches Muslim children the same thing. I don't want my kids hating or being hated. I am and have dedicated my life to teach my kids to understand, respect and may be, one day, love their Islamic cousins. Its enough with the hate!
