two scoundrels that the US Jews were drawn to, despite what their guts tell them.

Obama - I promise you I will deliver change

Maddoff - I promise you I will take your change

Can anyone help me to articulate a pattern here besides the obvious that both of these scoundrels will leave the American Jewish and non-Jewish communities poorer and in a more perilous situation?
