As Stuart Fagin points out, the two tactics they use, "peaceful" and violent, cannot be separated. If it hadn't been for the violence, the victim wouldn't be interested in what "peaceful" Islam had to offer, nor would we be motivated to pursue any accomodation of their "peaceful" (ie., less violent) nonsense. It's only the violence that motivates us, and without it they wouldn't be having the success they are. And they know that. Why don't we?
