What do you mean?

Islam - the name means submission a derivative from PEACE

Salam - means Peace

When we meet some one we say SALAM - means peace

Islam is pure and peaceful within itself

All information and all rules and laws are clear in it, it confirms what Moses brought in the ten commandments.

So what do you mean it did not bring peace to its own

If you watch the film "Muhammad, Legacy of a Prophet" you will see a different story

watch also the movie "The Messenge" which was produced in 1976

These two works are very very near to what Islam is and how it started. you will understand that Islam is a peaceful religion promote peaceful solusions to issues better than quarrel

when Muslims returned from Jihad, they were proud. But then Muhammad told them you have come from the lesser Jihad to the greater Jihad, the people asked him, is there Jihad better and greater than in the Battle, he said yes, the best Jihad is the self jihad (The word Jihad means Struggle, strife), it does not mean war. so as you can see Self Jihad to abstain from wrong doing and from sins is much greater than going to fight in in a war.

The command by God to fight in the Quran is always against the aggressors and the people who fight and sabotage our interests. And this command was revealed to Muhammad after 13 years of prophet hood.
