Reader comment on item: Debating the Khalil Gibran International Academy

Submitted by mz ravin black (United States), May 19, 2008 at 00:10

after mr. pipes and this deb the former principle spoke, i had to go back and listen several times to what she said at the end...

her first reply was that the curriculum was submitted to the department of education...then she said that the state department funded it with "new visions" and she did not create the idea for the school but that she was sought out to run the school...after stating what kind of school she wanted to create...

so, i took a quick look at what new visions was about at their website...all and all...the question not posed to this deb the former principal was the subject that mr. pipes brought up...was this about sharia law and to what extent are the rules of the school...and also why do we have to go to the department of education to find out the curriculum...she is making it sound as if she has no responsiblity for the curriculum...thus raising questions as to what is going on....

i heard very little to inform me as to the public nature of the school...
