You are correct, Michael. This is a story that is little known. I try to bring it up as often as I can when the subject comes up. The public at large needs to be informed of these events. Norman Stillman has written some good books on the history of Jews in the Middle East.

Two great documentaries are: "The Forgotten Refugees", produced by the David Project, and "The Silent Exodus", a Pierre Rehov film about the plight of Jews expelled from their Muslim homelands.

"The Forgotten Millions: The Modern Jewish Exodus from Arab Lands" Edited by Malka Hillel Shulewitz, is very much worth reading for those interested in the true history of the Middle East refugee problem in the early to mid twentieth century. There are also many internet resources that are very informative.
