I was about to post a reply to Prof. Pipes's statement that "Cease-fires benefit Israel in two main ways. They end the killing and they offer the time for Israel to improve its war-making abilities." The only side that improves its war-making abilities is that of the Arabs and their supporters. Cease-fires also give our enemies another benefit: they get to keep the Israeli population under the threat of the sword. Unfortunately, Israel's leadership (esp. the Three Stooges: Olmert, Peretz, and Livni -- aided and abetted in no small measure by Condi Rice) continues to fall for this ploy, time and time again.

Thanks also, Ron, for putting double-quotes around the world "Palestinians". Anyone with a brain should refuse to give this term, this pseudo-nation, any sort of legitimacy! By using this word, as well as such incorrect appellations as "settlers" and "cycle of violence", we do ourselves immeasurable harm.
