What Cease Fire

Reader comment on item: Gaza cease-fire

Submitted by Stuart Bliwas (United States), Nov 29, 2006 at 13:42

I agree with most of what Dr Pipes stated. Where I disagree is the fact that the cease fire actually ever took effect. It seems the Palestininians are violating it with impunity. More importantly almost all the advantages of the cease fire appear to favor the Palestinians not Israel.

The Palestinians are now free to get ready for the next round with impunity, import improved weapons and training through the Egyption border without interference. While Israel may improve its tactics incrementally the quantatative improvement advantage is clearly with the Palestinians.
