Reader comment on item: Gaza cease-fire

Submitted by David Sabghir (United States), Nov 29, 2006 at 16:10

I have read all of the comments. I feel like I am in a time warp, these comments have been written thousands of times and say the same thing. Often, with at least one leftist or one "rational" Moslem who perceives Israel's interest in peace!

Israel is between a rock and a hard place.

The Palestinians, to be seen in their proper perspective are no more nor less than a microcosm of the fires that are burning through Islam around the world. In short the terrorist entity represents the lowest common denominator of hate.

My mind is continually drawn to the news out of France, which gets worse by the day. Can there be peace in Israel, when Moslem thugs wage a war against every Jew on the streets of France? We are watching Nazi Germany all over again and the world is silent and hopes that it or we go away to another planet.

The mindset of the Moslem (with the possible exception of the moderate Moslem who is hiding under a rock somewhere in Antartica) is anathema to living in peace and harmony.

To give any credence to a cease fire as anything more meaningful than breathing space between war is sheer lunacy. Chanukah is upon us. It is about time to pray for a miracle. Perhaps elephants can be taught to fly? Will the Olmert government pick up the challenge? Will the US government fund the program to teach elephants to fly?

Keep tuned for the latest developments on flying elephants! Now back to Al Jazeera..........
