Diplomacy must have an endpointReader comment on item: [Appeasement and] Why Europe Balks Submitted by cookie (United States), Jan 28, 2003 at 13:37 As a longtime Leftist and admitted Bushphobe, it pains me to have to support anything he proposes. However, even the most braindead lovechild should be able to remember that rewarding bad behavior only leads to more bad behavior. Terrorist states must be brought to heel, while I would prefer that we begin with Saudi Arabia, taking down the Baathist Iraq, hopefully to be followedby Syria is a good start. I would hope then that the twenty-something generation of Iranians would take heart and execute their own Thermidorian Reaction against the corrupt mullahs and take their place among civilized nations. Let Europe stew in its own juice. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
