Well stated, Daniel. What a vivid contrast between the Euro-appeasers, always pretending to hold the nuanced position, always lecturing us on how complex and gray everything is, and Bush's unafraid moral judgment of the crimes of Hussein and the Baath party: "If that is not evil, then evil has no meaning."
The Left just hates that sort of talk because somewhere in its being it realizes that is is true...that the torture of children in front of their parents, the gassing of a whole village to intimidate the Kurds, are monstrous crimes with which there can be no accommodation. "Never again," they said after WW2...but in reality it is "Over and over again." They just use sanitized labels like "ethnic cleansing" to describe it now, and to turn their faces away.
