The "Israel Test"

Reader comment on item: Israel Does Not Need Palestinian Recognition?
in response to reader comment: The most important Israeli achievement would be Arab Islamic recognition of our right to a sovereign state

This is a very interesting perspective.

In a sense, recognition of Israel is a sort of "test".

It's not possible to be an Islamist AND recognise Israel.

It's not possible to recognise Israel AND be an Islamist.

You can tell a lot about a person's appreciation and acceptance of liberty and democracy based on their attitude towards a country such as Israel. Also by seeing their attitude towards the USA.

Thanks.
