Why do they hate us?

This is a post about London, therefore I ended up being critical of Britain. I pointed out the negligence of the authorities is dealing with Islamic extremism. Somebody was deeply offended by what I said, and that is perfectly understandable. I was pointing my fingers at Britain's tolerance of Militant Islam and I ended up insulting the Brits. That is Anglophobia, or xenophobia. However, if you read the British press, you will read a lot of very offensive articles about Europe. Why do the British hate us?
