One of the attributes that would be classified as an obstacle in the development of the human race can be summed up in five words: The will not to believe.

Its found in all groups, so the onus is placed on individuals to come to grips with what is so horrible that it can scarcely be believed, yet it is as true as the sun rising in the east.
