Prayer @ schoolReader comment on item: Faces of American Islam[: Muslim Immigration] Submitted by Jamil (United States), Oct 8, 2002 at 20:19 Why did you not mention anything else about prayers, such as how many high-schoolers pray at school?Muslim students, boys and girls, and I myself pray at school. Many Muslims are proud to tell others about their faith. All of my friends and everyone that has ever talked to me knows that I am a Muslim. My friends and I are also proud to fast during Ramadan. We do not say that we are on a diet. We tell people that we are fasting, that it is Ramadan, and that after Ramadan is Eid. Also, much more than 10% of Muslims go to the Mosque for the Friday prayer. I would say that at least 85% percent of Muslims attend the Friday prayer each week. I even leave school early on Fridays just to go to the Mosque.
