Note to GW re supposedly 'peaceful coversions to Islam'

in response to reader comment: the nature of islam

Submitted by Margot (Australia), Jul 30, 2005 at 18:53

Did you know that right now in supposedly somewhat 'democratic' Indonesia there it is the Islamic law of apostasy if one tries to convert anyone away from Islam, the state religion? Three women teachers are currently on trial in Indonesia accused of trying to spread the word about Christianity to some young students. In the meantime, any non-Muslims, particularly Christians, are being attacked more and more. So much for freedoms of religion under any coercive Islamic rule.
