Hi, Dave

If it weren't for Daniel's careful research, I might have said something completely different. Sometimes It's hard to imagine what people are thinking, and why.

Personally, I was cheering for Israel in 1967, when it looked as though Egypt and Syria were about to swallow her up. I was 19 then, just learning about life. I had read enough of the Bible (the first three books, I think) to understand that the Jews were God's chosen people. Somehow, I never got infected with antisemitism. It's hard for me to imagine, how a smart man like Henry Ford could have gotten snagged by such a doctrine. I guess it's like the Bible says,

1 Corinthians 1:
[27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
[28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
[29] That no flesh should glory in his presence.

In Henry Ford's day, the Jews were nothing: They had no country, and many of them were about to be exterminated. But God destroyed their enemies, and set them in the Promised Land -- to the dismay and disbelief of the unbelievers -- and His name has been magnified because of them.

Why did the Conservatives eventually get with the program, and the Liberals end up fighting against it? I don't know. Maybe he wanted us all to have a turn being stupid, so we could look to Him for wisdom. Only He knows the full reason.

God bless and keep you and yours.
