Who will fall first?

Reader comment on item: How Terrorism Harms Radical Islam

Submitted by JD Will (United States), Jan 10, 2015 at 11:32

Since 9-11 I have been watching for a concerted or coherent response by Western Civ to a resurgent Islam. For a while I thought GWB might be on it, but he lost focus and mired us with Iraq. For a number of reasons, globalization of the economy and elite, post modern relativism, internal culture wars, and so on, the current power structure seems unwilling or unable to end this conflict decisively.

I am beginning to think that the modern liberal state will fail before Islam, in the form of reactionary revolution or political upheaval. What follows may well be a horror to eclipse Germany and Russia in the 1930's. I hope not, but I see signs of it, especially in Russia.
