I wonder if Dr. Pipes would agree to that the nuclear weapons program of the Islamic Republic of Iran holds the same long-term ill effect on Iranian ambitions to dominate the Middle East as does terrorism on Islamist ambitions more broadly(?).

I see the Iranian nuclear program as very different from Islamist attacks in the West. That program is a very great menace and will change the balance of power internationally. It must be stopped, presumably by force.
