Reader comment on item: How Terrorism Harms Radical Islam

Submitted by JACQUES HADIDA (United States), Jan 9, 2015 at 17:58

… One must realize that what happened at Charlie Hebdo is considered a victory by many. And this will encourage more similar acts .

Sadly, France is very weak when it comes to deal with their Moslem population. When you realize that Paris police is afraid of entering several areas run by Moslems as if it were their own state for fear of being killed, you wonder how could a country allow such a situation. And as long as drastic steps are not taken, for example doing like Israel who remove from their territory the entire families of the terrorist to serve as a lesson for the next terrorist, nothing will change. Also the world must remember that for these terrorists life is if no importance. What counts is causing death in the name if their religion. And to finish, MEDIA everywhere is guilty of being politically correct rather than tell the truth as it happens.

Daniel Pipes replies:

I agree there will be further attacks - indeed, there just was one in Hamburg, Germany. But my point is that these attacks turn the 95 percent of the non-Muslim population against Islamism. And that ultimately dooms Islamism.
