No Quid Pro Quo With Hamas

Reader comment on item: Why Does Hamas Want War?

Submitted by Dave (Canada), Jul 12, 2014 at 13:10

I just want to note that Israel has actually done some nice things for Gaza, to name a few:

1) They unilaterally withdrew, uprooting thousands of Jewish settlers.

2) They have provided medical care for many Gazans, including some jihadis.

3) They have helped many Gaza farmers with agricultural advice.

4) They have provided electricity and food shipments.

And all this despite thousands of rockets.

The lesson: There is no quid pro quo when dealing with supremacists. Westerners who expect the Golden Rule to apply here are guilty of the Mirror Image Fallacy. Islamists only want to dominate, not reciprocate.
