Did I Miss Something?Reader comment on item: [Hamid Dabashi:] Columbia University's Hysterical Professor Submitted by Yonason (United States), Dec 1, 2004 at 18:09 Provost Brinkley wrote, "...but you are no stranger to controversy and have encountered such ad hominem criticism before."What "ad hominem criticism" is he talking about? Was it in the portion of Mr. Luria's letter we aren't shown? It certainly isn't in the above quote. Although I like the fact that Dabashi was given the brush-off by Brinkley, I am uncomfortable with this apparent concession to him. In fact, given the absence of such an attack, the accuse of it ammounts to slander. This is very disturbing. It sounds like Brinkley is just trying to calm Dabashi down while still reassuring him that he can ignore the fanatical Jew.
