how close we always are to disaster..

Reader comment on item: "Rushdie Rules" Reach Florida

Submitted by PJM (United States), Sep 24, 2010 at 14:48

im busy at work so cant be too elaborate, but incidents like this near koran-burning and the uproar that follows just go to show how close the world always is to armed conflict. and it shows how religion unites locally and divides globally.. and yes i think islam is by far the worst of them all.. basically the west is tip-toeing around the obvious fact that our western values are incompatible with islam. but we enjoy such a standard of living, who really wants to start world war 3 right now? so politicians and leaders just dance around the issue and try to avoid bloody conflicts and potential conflicts.. so as disgusting as it is to cave into pressures and throw out the 1st amendment, the alternative is the west unifying in its stance against this ... islam. but once that happens, it will be all out holocaustal destruction, no?
