Reader comment on item: T. E. Lawrence, American Strategist

Submitted by Diana Barshaw (Israel), Jan 18, 2010 at 04:41

Thank you for this interesting analysis of Petraeus's use of the incites of T. E. Lawrence in his military strategy in Iraq. It makes so much sense to look for and use what ever historic knowledge there is from a particular area. The chattering classes are always saying that we should forget the history and focus on today. Wrong! Only by having a deep understanding of the history of the middle east and how different it is from our own can we hope to make any headway. visit www.dianabarshaw.com for a different view of Israel
