religion is not used to justify but to gather support for future murders

Dr Pipes quotes "Religion is used to justify the murder of innocents by those who have distorted and defiled the great religion of Islam.". Let me go beyond Dr Pipes comment that Obama was an interpreter of islam. Religion is not used to justify the violence that has already happened, it is far worse. Looking at the war scenario Islam is used to gather active support for *future* violence within the muslim community by demonstrating they have a clear mandate and obligation based on religion.

I am afraid Obama's statement turns a blind eye to the greater political effort the islamist terror establishes. In this effort islam (as a relgiion) is a means of communicating radical ideas.
